Prepta

Free PDF transparency checker

Check live transparency in your PDF before print

Live transparency and blend modes look fine on screen and fail on some cutters, older RIPs, or spot-colour workflows. This free check flags transparency against a production profile — and runs the rest of the public preflight in the same pass.

  • Live transparency reported when the public profile warns on it
  • Clear next step: flatten in the design app or let Prepta flatten per profile
  • Same report covers bleed, colour, fonts, resolution and PDF/X markers
  • Honest: whether transparency is allowed depends on the destination workflow

Common questions

How do I check a PDF for transparency?

Upload it here. The free checker reports live transparency when the production profile cannot leave it as-is, along with the rest of the print-readiness findings.

Is transparency always a problem for print?

No. Modern PDF/X-4 workflows often allow it. Cutters, some large-format RIPs and older pipelines still need flattening. The profile decides.

Will this flatten my PDF?

No. The free check is diagnostic. Full Prepta can flatten when your production profile marks that repair as safe.

Why does Canva / design-tool export fail transparency?

Browser design tools often leave blend modes and opacity live. That is normal on screen and a common reason shops flatten before finishing.
