Free PDF font checker
Check PDF fonts are embedded before print
An unembedded font can stop a job or silently substitute on the RIP. Drop a PDF here and we check font embedding against a production profile — alongside colour, bleed and the rest of the free public preflight.
- Fonts not embedded — named so you can ask the designer for a fix
- Live text noted as review when relevant (not a fake pass)
- Same run covers bleed, colour, resolution, transparency and PDF/X markers
- Free diagnostic — outlining or re-export is still a design-side decision

Common questions
How do I check if fonts are embedded in a PDF?
Upload the PDF to this free font check. We report fonts that are not embedded so you can ask for a re-export or outline before production.
Why do print shops require embedded fonts?
Without embedding, the RIP or another machine may substitute a different font, shift layout, or refuse the file. Embedding (or outlining) locks the type you approved.
Will this outline my fonts?
No. The free check only reports. Outlining or re-exporting with embed options is done in the design app or in full Prepta when your profile allows it.
Is live text an error?
Not always. Some workflows want live text; others require outlines. We surface live text as a review note so you decide against your profile — not as a fake pass.
